Dorothy Perkins Degenhardt

- Savannah - Dorothy Perkins Degenhardt, 93, died November 7, 2009. She was born at Perkins in Jenkins County, daughter of the late Walter Cleveland and Freddie Bargeron Perkins. Mrs. Degenhardt moved to Savannah in 1959 and was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Degenhardt, Sr., local owner and operator of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Company and her son, Ralph Edward Degenhardt.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles F. Degenhardt, Jr. and Judy Degenhardt of Savannah; Walter P. Degenhardt and Terri Degenhardt of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Dr. Charles F. Dagenhardt, III and his wife, Marie of Columbia; Deborah Haupt and her husband, Harold of Savannah; Amanda D. Woosley of Atlanta and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Christian Wake Service at 5:30 p.m.

Funeral: 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at Magnolia Baptist Church in Perkins with Reverend Bill Turner officiating.

Burial: Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery.
